Oxandrolone

What is oxandrolone?

Oxandrolone is an anabolic steroid used by athletes and bodybuilders in order to gain muscle mass and strength. It is considered a mild anabolic steroid with a low androgenic activity. Oxandrolone is used when water retention is a concern. Athletes use oxandrolone to lose weight in an effective and nearly permanent manner. In comparison with other anabolic steroids, oxandrolone causes the lowest sulfobromophthalein retention. Oxandrolone may also be used for the treatment of osteoporosis in women and HIV/AIDS related wasting syndrome. In some cases, physicians prescribe oxandrolone during adjunctive therapy after weight loss following extensive surgery, severe trauma or chronic infections. It is a drug that can be obtained without a prescription but the use without the prescription is considered illegal and people who use it may abuse it. Therefore, prior to commencing the therapy with oxandrolone consult a physician and get well informed about all appropriate dosage for attaining your personal goals, and follow exactly the prescription in order to avoid further complications and side effects. Do not use oxandrolone if you have an apparent hypersensitivity to it or have experienced previously allergic reactions to anabolic steroids. Even if allergic reactions to the product are rare, these are not excluded. If you notice any signs of allergy to the drug, report about them immediately and take appropriate measures to treat the symptoms and if it is necessary, discontinue with the drug.

Oxandrolone profile and dosage

Oxandrolone is an anabolic steroid that is available for oral administration as tablets. It is a drug that has an active life of eight to twelve hours. This is the reason it is indicated to take two oral dosages per day in order to keep an even concentration of the drug in blood. However, depending on the particular situation and need it may be used three and even four times daily under the close monitoring of a physician. The tablets may be taken with food or milk in order to decrease the incidence of gastrointestinal disturbances. Oxandrolone may be used with testosterone and methandrostenolone for increasing its effect and quality in gaining strength and muscular mass. In comparison with other drugs, oxandrolone may be used in women as it does not cause masculinizing effects.

As already mentioned above, oxandrolone may be indicated to help people regain weight that they might have lost due to serious events such as trauma, long term treatment with corticosteroids such as prednisone or hydrocortisone, chronic infection or surgery. However, in most of the cases, people use it to produce male hormones produced naturally by the body (such as testosterone). Users need to be closely supervised while taking this drug, because there is an increased incidence of abusing it due to the fact that athletes want to obtain good performance in a relatively short period of time. The abuse of oxandrolone may be dangerous and result in severe side effects. It is very important to not increase the dosage of oxandrolone without permission of a physician. Also, the doses have to be taken exactly as prescribed. Do not use it more frequently than as indicated.
