Methyltestosterone

What is methyltesterone?

Methyltestosterone is a drug that belongs to the androgens class of drugs. It is used in men who are not capable of producing themselves the natural substance called testosterone. Therefore, methyltestosterone is indicated as replacement therapy in patients with deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone. Generally, testosterone is responsible for growth and development of genitals primary and for the development of muscles and bones. ·Primary hypogonadism, which is a testicular failure due to cryptorchidism;

·Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism;

·Stimulation of puberty in males with delayed puberty;

·It may also be used in postmenopausal women for 1 to 5 years with advancing inoperable metastatic mammary cancer.

Indications of use and dosage

Methyltestosterone is a drug available for oral administration as capsules. It is recommended to follow the therapy exactly as prescribed. The prescribed dose depends on many factors including age, sex and diagnosis of each patient. Therefore, consult a doctor to get prescription of appropriate dosage for your medical situation.

·Oxyphenbutazone;

·Insulin and other oral hypoglycemic agents.

Possible side effects with methyltestosterone

·Depression;

·Paresthesia;

·Increased libido;

·And rarely anaphylactoid reactions.

If you missed a dose

If you forgot to take methyltestosterone, take it as soon as you remember. If it is already too late to take the skipped dose, leave it and return to your usual schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the skipped one. Try to not miss more than one dose a day in order to not decrease the effect of the drug.
